Welcome to Washington Flute Circle (WFC). We are a 501(c)3 non profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and organizations in the Northwest interested in the Native American style flute and its music, culture and history. Washington Flute Circle started a monthly newsletter in February 2009 to provide information for those interested in the Native American flute, and for everyone to have access to the most up to date information. Washington Flute Circle (WFC) was formed to provide a resource for individuals and organizations that are interested in the Native American flute and wish to form flute circles, put on seminars or workshops, access individuals that create and/or sell flutes, find teachers or mentors of the flute and create a repository of information surrounding the flute and its music and history for future generations. In short, it is an organization that wishes to celebrate the flute from the heart providing a path for healing in this world.
Washington Flute Circle became a Washington State non-profit corporation in June of 2005. The founders were Brent Haines-President, Kent Bush-Secretary and Rodney Bolyen-Treasurer. In 2007, the IRS granted Washington Flute Circle 501(c)3 status as an educational, non-profit corporation. With this charter, we are creating avenues for the celebration of the Native American flute from the heart through our breath. Flute Quest is one of Washington Flute Circle's vehicles to bring groups and individuals together in the creation of music of and from the heart for all to enjoy. For 2010, Flute Quest will return to the beautiful SALTWATER STATE PARK (SSP) in Des Moines, WA, on August 20th, 21st, and 22nd.
