The Washington Flute Circle (WFC) is a gathering of individuals and organizations interested in the American Indian flute. This interest may range from a "sometimes thing", to a life changing passion. Individual members may be interested in making flutes, playing flutes, composing original music, public performances or simply listening to the flute.

The function of WFC is to foster the establishment and support growth of individual flute circles, and to provide representation and a channel of communications between the individual chapters and The International Native American Flute Association. Currently WFC supports a loose confederation of individual flute circles that meet on different days of the month in communities throughout the Northwest. Through WFC, each circle may have its own page on this web site supporting their members at large.

Currently there are no application forms or membership dues required by WFC or the individual circles - simply show up at the various meetings. Due to building rental costs some of the circles may request donations to cover the cost of their facilities. Any funds raised by individual circles are used to support various circle programs, activities and charities. Most circles may ask you for an e-mail address so that they can send you meeting and performance announcements.

As part of the facilitation process by WFC, links to Native American Flute makers, history, organizations and music are noted on the web site. These are provided as a service to interested individuals looking for knowledge, goods and services. No remuneration was solicited from these individuals or organizations, and no endorsement is intended by allowing these links.
